Pay It Forward Program

Colleen Sweet:Mentor, Donor, & Scholarship Selection Committee Member

Colleen’s generosity of spirit seems unending and our gratitude for the many ways she supports our success is everlasting.

For four years she has served as a volunteer mentor for Pay It Forward, and this past year she joined us on our Scholarship Selection Committee, carefully reviewing each application and interviewing and selecting finalists. So moved by the exceptional young people she met during that process, she couldn’t help but donate to a scholarship to ensure as many of them had this opportunity as possible.

Eagles for Education

Team Tanigawa/Iniakov wins $20,000 towards Chevron scholarships for The First Tee!
Chevron’s Eagles for Education initiative and partnership with the PURE Insurance Championship exemplify the company’s ongoing commitment to increasing STEM education quality and access. Chevron provides resources, such as the STEM Zone, to encourage students to pursue STEM careers, and to train these future leaders in skills crucial to the well-paying jobs of the future. Chevron’s Eagles for Education program has raised over $7.2 million for non-profits such as The First Tee since 2011.

We are deeply grateful to the foundations, corporate citizens and individual members of our community, whose trust and generous investments in our work make it possible for us to offer opportunities for a brighter future for our youth in Monterey County. Each of them understands that when our youth succeed, we all do.

We thank them for their support of the Future Citizens Foundation.
